Tinubu Urges Community Protection for New FCT Road

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called on communities to safeguard a newly completed road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during a ceremony on Tuesday. He highlighted the road's importance in improving access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities, which will reduce post-harvest losses and stimulate agricultural activities, thereby expanding economic opportunities for rural communities.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated that the project reflects President Tinubu's directive to extend development beyond Abuja city center to satellite communities. The contract for the project was awarded in November 2025, with completion anticipated in less than a year, showcasing the administration's commitment to timely project delivery.

Wike praised the contractor for delivering the project on schedule and announced the upcoming commissioning of the Gbazango Arab Road project in Kubwa next month. Traditional rulers from the Kwali Area Council were acknowledged for their support throughout the construction period, and a formal inauguration of the road is planned for the end of the month.
