Tinubu Commends Wike for Ending Abandoned Road Projects

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu praised Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for concluding the era of abandoned road projects in Abuja. This commendation followed the inauguration of the completed Akinwumi Ajibola Street in the Gaduwa district.

Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noted that Wike's actions transformed infrastructure delivery in the capital, ensuring projects are completed rather than left abandoned. Wike's review of neglected projects led to the return of contractors to sites with clear timelines and funding commitments.

He emphasized the need for residents to safeguard infrastructure and avoid dumping refuse in drainage channels. Wike also warned the Abuja Municipal Area Council chairman against renaming roads constructed by the federal government without proper approval.

The event marked the 16th day of a 31-day project inauguration program celebrating the administration's third anniversary, with a commitment to extend infrastructure development across all districts in the Federal Capital Territory.
