Amaechi Pressured to Accept ADC Running Mate Role

Pressure is increasing on Rotimi Amaechi to accept the position of presidential running mate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Atiku Abubakar recently visited Amaechi to solicit continued support for the party.

Sources within the party hierarchy believe that Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, would better serve the coalition's interests in the upcoming presidential elections. The decision regarding the running mate position will not be finalized until Atiku returns from an overseas trip.

Amaechi's previous role as the Director General of Buhari's campaign organization has positioned him as a key figure to attract major votes from the South-South region. Earlier, Atiku considered Seyi Makinde for the running mate position, but Makinde announced his decision to contest the presidential election under the Allied People's Movement (APM).

Despite the challenges, ADC leadership appears resolute in resolving the impasse regarding the running mate selection.
