Pressure on Bodejo to Withdraw from Taraba Senate Race

Bodejo, a senatorial aspirant for Taraba Central, has been detained for 48 hours by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and was flown to Abuja. During his detention, it is alleged that EFCC officials advised him to withdraw from the 2027 senatorial race in exchange for his release.

Bodejo is a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been actively involved in supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential campaign. His campaign director condemned the manner of his arrest, describing it as humiliating.

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore socio-cultural association has also reportedly advised Bodejo to wait until 2031 to contest for the senatorial seat. Adamu, a supporter of Bodejo, called for calm and urged stakeholders within the APC to intervene in the matter to ensure justice and Bodejo's release.
