Prestige Assurance Appoints New Non-Executive Director

Prestige Assurance Plc has notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited of the appointment of Mr. Seetharaman Sivasankar as a Non-Executive Director, effective 20th August 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The filing details Mr. Sivasankar's professional background, which spans over 36 years at National Insurance Company Ltd. in India.
Prestige Assurance Plc filed a corporate action notice with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on 21st August 2026, announcing the appointment of Mr. Seetharaman Sivasankar to its Board as a Non-Executive Director. The appointment takes effect from 20th August 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Mr. Sivasankar began his insurance career in 1991 when he joined National Insurance Company Ltd. (NICL) in India as an Officer. He holds a degree in Commerce and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India (FIII). Over his 36-year career at NICL, he held roles at branch, divisional, regional, and head office levels.
His roles included heading the Accounts Department at a Divisional Office for approximately eight years, leading several Branch and Divisional Offices for 16 years, and managing Corporate and Large Claims for three years. He later rose to Chief Manager and then Deputy General Manager, where he oversaw Fire and Engineering businesses, including both Underwriting and Claims functions.
Most recently, Mr. Sivasankar was appointed as an Executive Director on the Board of New India Assurance on 20th February 2026. The company secretary, Mrs. Chidinma Ibe-Louis, signed the filing on behalf of Prestige Assurance Plc.
