Tinubu May Move Nigeria's Capital to Lagos if Re-elected

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, stated that if President Bola Tinubu is re-elected in the 2027 presidential election, he could relocate Nigeria's capital from Abuja to Lagos. Ayodele shared this claim in a video on X, suggesting that Lagos would experience substantial structural changes, potentially becoming the seat of government.

He mentioned that the new capital could be located in areas such as Epe or Lekki. Tinubu, who is seeking re-election under the All Progressives Congress, faces opposition from candidates like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.

Ayodele also cautioned that Tinubu might encounter serious political challenges if he does not reassess his alliances, particularly with governors who may not support him. He expressed concerns about Tinubu's reliance on external support from the United States and France, indicating that the 2027 election would be influenced by various factors beyond political structures and financial resources.
