Prime Atlantic Squash Tournament Boosts Player Quality

Boy Oyerind, the former President of the Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF), stated that the Prime Atlantic Squash Tournament has led to a steady improvement in the quality of play among participants. Speaking during the second round of the tournament held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, he described the championship as a major platform for talent development.

Oyerind noted that the standard of play has improved significantly compared to previous editions, with noticeable growth in the performance of young players. He highlighted the importance of corporate sponsorship in sustaining the growth of squash in Nigeria, asserting that the development of the sport relies heavily on such support.

In the tournament, lead referee Adebowal Oladeji reported a significant increase in participation and match quality. Notable results included Temiloluwa Adegok defeating Sheu Muyideen 3-0 and Samuel Nduka Uba winning against Abudusman Olanrewaju 3-0.

Defending champion Bright Samson Asad faced an unexpected defeat, impacting the U19 men's category.
