Group Urges INEC to Probe Kaduna Governor's Aide Claims

A group has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate claims made by Abubakar Mamadi, the special adviser on political matters to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, regarding electoral malpractice in Igabi Local Government Area. The petition, dated June 1, 2026, was signed by Suleiman Usman, Yusuf Jalal, and Abubakar Ibrahim, among others.

They expressed concern over a viral video and subsequent media reports where Mamadi allegedly stated that election results were manipulated during the previous general elections. The group emphasized that while the authenticity and legal implications of Mamadi's statements require verification, they raise serious questions about the integrity of past electoral processes.

They urged INEC to take swift action to reassure Nigerian voters and maintain public confidence in the electoral system, warning that failure to investigate could undermine trust in the country's electoral framework.
