ADC Upholds Mikati as Kaduna Gubernatorial Candidate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) affirmed Shuaibu Idri Mikati as its gubernatorial candidate for Kaduna State following a review by the party's primary election appeal committee, chaired by Dr. Muham Fagg. The committee announced its decision on Tuesday, stating that Mikati secured the highest number of valid votes during the gubernatorial primary.

However, the committee also declared several primary elections inconclusive due to substantial irregularities, including breaches in procedures and omissions of ballot papers. Consequently, reruns were ordered for the affected federal constituencies, including Ikara, Kubau, and Kaduna South.

The committee emphasized the need to protect the integrity of the party's nomination process and ensure fair opportunities for all aspirants. Dr. Fagg expressed optimism that the decision would help resolve disputes arising from the primaries and strengthen confidence in the party's preparations for future electoral contests in Kaduna State.
