Prof Yadudu Raises Concerns Over Discrepancies in Tax Laws, Alleges Usurpation of Legislative Powers

Prof Yadudu, a law professor, expressed concerns over discrepancies in tax laws, accusing the executive arm of government of usurping the legislative powers of the National Assembly. He pointed out alterations in tax acts that were not publicly debated or subject to public hearings, potentially leading to unconstitutional changes.

Abdussamad Dasuki raised the issue in the House of Representatives, alleging breaches of legislative privileges. Yadudu criticized provisions granting tax authorities powers without court orders, warning of the undermining of fair judicial oversight.
