Anambra First Lady Urges CAN Women to Promote Peace

Nony Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State, called on women of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to promote peace and healthy living during the inauguration of the new executive members of the Women Wing of CAN in Onitsha on Wednesday. She emphasized the importance of motherhood as a privilege and an opportunity to strengthen households and improve communities.

Soludo, who is also the founder of a non-governmental organization focused on healthy living, initiated efforts to promote cultural inclusivity and partnership, stressing the necessity of good hygiene practices for everyone, regardless of creed or status. She urged the new leadership to prioritize advocacy for women's rights, support families, campaign against gender-based violence, and promote interfaith unity.

The Women Wing of CAN, known as WOWICAN, was established in 1990 to unite Christian women across denominations in Nigeria, focusing on humanitarian services, gender equality, financial empowerment, and education.
