Anambra First Lady Advocates for Women's Empowerment

On Friday, during the 2026 Anambra Women Summit organized by the Progress Grand Alliance Party at the region's office in Awka, Dr. Nony Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State, called for increased empowerment for women across the country.

She stated that empowering women strengthens society and places the nation in safer hands. Dr.

Soludo, who is also the founder of Healthi Live, noted that women are trustworthy and capable of handling responsibilities. She emphasized the importance of self-realization and motivation, urging women to acquire skills and engage in productive ventures rather than relying solely on external support.

The governor's administration prioritizes women's empowerment, creating opportunities based on competence rather than gender. She highlighted various forms of empowerment, including economic, educational, health, and social support.

Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, the Chief Executive Officer of Seahorse Company, also spoke at the event, encouraging women to become self-reliant and influential leaders. The summit featured a march past by APGA women from 21 local government areas, with Ogbaku Local Government Area emerging first.
