Youth Group Urges FG to Protect Rural Communities from Attacks

The Youth Arise Movement, represented by Comrade Ademola Babatunde, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to urgently develop and implement comprehensive strategies to protect rural communities from bandits and kidnappers. In a press statement released on Sunday in Abuja, Babatunde expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, urging President Bola Tinubu and relevant authorities to take decisive measures to safeguard lives and properties.

He highlighted that for fifteen years, Nigeria has endured relentless attacks from terrorists, bandits, and criminal elements, resulting in thousands killed, kidnapped, and displaced. Babatunde specifically identified rural communities as particularly vulnerable due to inadequate security presence, which has left them exposed to repeated attacks.

He also raised alarms about a recent attack on a school in Kautikari village, Chibok Local Government Area, Borno State, where suspected Boko Haram terrorists targeted educational institutions. The statement emphasized the need for stronger community-based security initiatives and improved intelligence gathering to address the crisis.
