Protest Rocks Akure Sports Complex Over Appointment Dispute in Ondo State

Stakeholders at the Akure Sports Complex in Ondo State staged a protest against the appointment of Evelyn Lebi as the Acting General Manager of the Sport Council. The protesters, led by the Chairman of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTR), expressed dissatisfaction, citing the need for a competent technocrat to revive sports in the state.

Joshua Ogunbiyi and Idowu Afun appealed to the state government to appoint a credible person to lead the Sport Council. However, Omoyofunmi defended Lebi's appointment, stating her qualifications and experience in the sports sector.
