Umahi to Sue Tracy Ohiri Over ₦250 Million Debt Claim

David Umahi, the Minister, is set to commence legal action against businesswoman Tracy Ohiri regarding a ₦250 million debt claim linked to services she provided during his 2015 gubernatorial campaign in Ebonyi State. The dispute has escalated, with Ohiri accusing Umahi of sexual harassment and alleging unpaid campaign-related debts.

Following a series of events, including threats of police action against Ohiri for alleged cyberbullying, she was detained and later arraigned in a magistrate's court in Abuja on defamation charges, where she was granted bail. A viral video showed Ohiri apologizing to Umahi, but she later claimed that her lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, pressured her to retract her statement.

Umahi's Senior Special Assistant on Media, Franci Nwaz, stated that Umahi is asking Ohiri to provide verifiable evidence of her claims, offering ₦1 billion in return. Umahi's legal team is prepared to proceed with court action if Ohiri fails to meet the conditions set forth.
