PRP Names Senator Shehu Buba Umar as 2027 Candidate

The People's Redemption Party (PRP) has officially selected Senator Shehu Buba Umar as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State. This announcement was made during a special delegate congress held in Bauchi, where the primary election was conducted through a voice affirmation process.

The exercise was supervised by Haruna Buhari, the PRP national vice chairman for the North, who formally declared Senator Umar as the party's flagbearer. He met all legal requirements as per the PRP constitution and electoral guidelines, leading to his declaration as the duly elected governorship candidate.

Abdulraham Muazu, the state chairman of the PRP, noted that the party is positioned strongly for the upcoming elections, with Senator Umar being a significant boost due to his political experience. Senator Umar expressed gratitude to the party leadership and emphasized his commitment to mobilizing support, particularly among youth and women, to intensify grassroots campaigns ahead of the elections.
