PSC Seeks Credible Recruitment Of Police Constables, Cadets, Meets Stakeholders

The Police Service Commission (PSC) convened a meeting with representatives from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to discuss the transparent and credible recruitment of police constables and cadets for the Nigeria Police Force. Chaired by PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd), the meeting aimed to ensure equity and fairness in the 2025 recruitment exercise.

Argungu emphasized the need to prevent slot trading and corruption, emphasizing that the process would be strictly merit-based. Retired Supreme Court Justice Paul Adamu Galumje and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retd) also stressed the importance of fairness and preventing any individual or group from hijacking the recruitment process.

The PSC Secretary, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, revealed plans to open state offices to strengthen oversight and called for cooperation from state governments to achieve these goals.
