PSG Claims Back-to-Back UEFA Super Cup Titles

Paris St-Germain (PSG) won their second consecutive UEFA Super Cup title by defeating Aston Villa 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute.

Aston Villa's Brian Madjo equalized just before half-time in the 45th minute, marking his debut and making him the youngest scorer in Super Cup history. Madjo, a 17-year-old striker and England Under-17 international, had previously missed two scoring opportunities before volleying in a cross from John McGinn.

The match's decisive moment came in the 62nd minute when Desire Doue scored the winner for PSG after a video assistant referee (VAR) check confirmed he was onside. This victory comes after an eight-month battle for Madjo, who was initially banned from playing by FIFA after joining Aston Villa from Metz for £10 million in January, but was cleared to compete following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in early August.
