IOM Nigeria Closes Health Centres for Eid el-Maulud Holiday

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Nigeria announced the temporary closure of its Migration Health Assessment Centres (MHAC) located in Abuja, Lagos, and Benin City on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in observance of the Eid el-Maulud public holiday. This closure affects all MHAC locations currently operating in Nigeria, and the centres will resume full service on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

IOM Nigeria communicated this announcement through its official channels, advising migrants and stakeholders to plan accordingly. The Abuja, Lagos, and Benin City centres are essential facilities for conducting health screenings and assessments for migrants who are applying to travel or resettle abroad.
