Qatar Introduces Four Visa Types for Foreign Travelers

The government of Qatar has officially released a list of four categories of visas that foreign nationals can obtain prior to entering the country. These visas, referred to as "visas in advance," are standard travel authorizations issued before departure for Qatar.

Upon arrival, travelers must present the visa at the designated port of entry. According to Qatar's Ministry of Interior, the visa categories include: a standard visa valid for 90 days, a tourist visa obtainable through hotels and approved travel agencies, a family visa also known as a personal visit visa, and a transit visa through Qatar Airways, which is valid for 96 hours.

This information is applicable for travel in 2026 and aims to assist foreign nationals in navigating the appropriate channels for their visit to Qatar.
