Qing Madi Wins Court Battle Against Jton Music Label

Qing Madi, a 19-year-old singer, has been embroiled in a legal dispute with Jton Music Label, which she claims has harassed and intimidated her. Madi alleges that Jton stole her signature and improperly targeted her music releases.

The court ruled in her favor, noting that the contract she signed at 16 was voidable under Lagos State child rights law. Madi's mother accompanied her to court during the proceedings.

Jton responded with a formal press release, framing the dispute as a commercial contract issue and denying any wrongdoing. The court issued an interlocutory injunction restraining Madi from releasing or performing her music commercially while the case is pending.

Jton is reportedly entering a new deal with a U.S. brand and has disclosed a distribution agreement with Sony Music and Bu Vision. KFMD, representing Madi, issued a counter-statement addressing Jton's claims and asserting Madi's right to choose her management and release music independently.
