Quadri Aruna Backs Eko 2026 to Discover Talents

Quadri Aruna, Africa’s leading table tennis player and the only African in the world’s Top 10, has endorsed the Eko 2026 National Intermediate Games, which aims to uncover Nigeria’s next generation of sporting talents. Scheduled from October 1 to 15 in Lagos, the inaugural event will host over 15,000 athletes competing in 28 sports across 10 venues.

During a visit to Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, Aruna expressed his belief that the initiative is crucial for restoring Nigeria's sports glory and returning to grassroots development. He reflected on Lagos’ support for his career under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and encouraged young athletes to embrace the opportunity, learn, and grow.

Omotoso described Aruna’s endorsement as symbolic, highlighting the inspiration it provides to aspiring athletes who can also rise to the world stage.
