Adamawa Rep Urges Atiku to Quit Partisan Politics, Son Supports Tinubu for 2027 Presidency

Muham Basil, a member of the House of Representatives from Adamawa State, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step away from partisan politics and embrace the role of an elder statesman. Basil emphasized the need for experienced politicians like Atiku to provide advisory support rather than actively engaging in partisan activities.

Atiku's son, Abba Atiku, recently defected from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's potential presidential bid in 2027. Basil highlighted Atiku's significant contributions to Nigeria's development and suggested that it was time for him to allow younger politicians to lead.

Meanwhile, Abba Atiku's move to the APC was described as a significant boost for the party in Adamawa State. Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, remains a member of the PDP and is currently serving on a commission working on energy development in Adamawa State under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
