Adamawa Rep Urges Atiku to Quit Partisan Politics as Son Backs Tinubu for 2027 Presidency

Muham Basil, a member of the House of Representatives from Adamawa State, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to retire from partisan politics and take on a role as an elder statesman to mentor younger politicians. Atiku's son, Abba Atiku, recently pledged his full support for Bola Tinubu's potential presidential candidacy in 2027.

Basil commended Atiku's contributions to national development but suggested that his return to partisan engagement could diminish his impact. Abba Atiku, on the other hand, has left the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the need to support ongoing infrastructure and human development initiatives under President Tinubu's administration.

Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar's other son, Adamu Atiku, remains a senior PDP member serving in a commission under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's administration. Atiku's media adviser, Paul Ibe, did not respond to requests for comments.
