National Polo Tour Paused for Ramadan and Easter Festivities

The National Polo Tour in Nigeria has been put on hold to accommodate the religious observances of Ramadan and Easter. The tour, which began in early January, saw the conclusion of the Lagos International Polo Tournament in February.

The pause was deemed necessary to allow players and patrons to observe these significant religious holidays. The tour is set to resume with the 120th anniversary of the Ibadan International Polo Tournament in May 2026, which will take place in the ancient Oyo Kingdom.

Bola Adeyemi, the president of the Ibadan Polo Club, confirmed the hosting of the tournament and expressed excitement for the event, which is expected to feature prestigious awards such as the Ibadan Cup, Rotimi Cup, and Alakija Cup. The tournament will also include subsidiary prizes and will be a highlight for polo enthusiasts in Nigeria.
