FG Supports Media Growth at RATTAWU's 50th Anniversary

On Tuesday, during the unveiling of the roadmap for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) in Abuja, Information Minister Mohammed Idris stated that the Federal Government will continue to support institutions that contribute positively to the growth of Nigeria's media and cultural sectors. He described RATTAWU as a strategic partner in building a critical institution within Nigeria's media landscape.

Idris highlighted the union's enduring contributions to media, theatre, and the cultural profession, which are essential for democracy and national cohesion. He emphasized the need for responsible media practices to combat misinformation and fake news.

The Minister also noted the importance of media literacy and the role of institutions like IMILI in promoting ethical journalism. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including directors from major media organizations in Nigeria.
