RCCG's Role in Saving Ex-Inmate from Death Sentence

Fakored Olawal, a 38-year-old former inmate, shared his testimony about how the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) saved him from a death sentence. He was arrested in 2015 while in his third year at university, charged with offenses including cultism, armed robbery, and attempted murder, and spent seven years awaiting trial.

During this period, he lost his father and faced significant challenges due to poor choices made in secondary school. In 2017, while in prison, he encountered the RCCG's Prison Hospital Ministry, which led him to accept Christ.

Despite his conversion, he received two death sentences and two life imprisonments in 2022. However, through the ministry's intervention, he was eventually set free.

Pastor Niyi Adebanjo emphasized the need for continued support for inmates, while Pastor Ariyo Popoola announced plans for a N600 million halfway home to aid reintegration of ex-inmates.
