RCCG Praises Security Agencies for Oyo Kidnap Rescue

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) reacted positively to the rescue of pupils and teachers abducted from a school in Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State. The church described the development as a divine response to their week of prayer and fasting, reaffirming their faith in God's power to answer prayers.

RCCG applauded the role of security agencies in bringing the victims home, sharing messages of relief for the families of the captives. Pastor Enoch Adeboy, during a gala in Washington D.C. on June 23, spoke about the church's commitment to prayer until the victims were freed.

The incident involved the abduction of thirty-nine pupils and seven teachers, including Principal Joel Adesiyan, during an attack on May 15. Tragically, two individuals, teachers Joel Adesiyan and Michael Oyedokun, were killed during the abduction.

The Oyo State government maintained that no ransom was paid for the victims' release, insisting that the rescue was conducted by security agencies without yielding to kidnappers' demands.
