Real Madrid Signs Carlos Espi from Levante for €25M

Real Madrid signed 21-year-old striker Carlos Espi from Levante on Thursday for a reported fee of 25 million euros ($29 million). Espi, who had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, will join Real Madrid for the next five seasons, with his contract running until June 30, 2031.

The signing comes as Real Madrid prepares for a squad overhaul after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy. Gonzalo Garcia is expected to leave the club for Fulham, which may have prompted the signing of Espi.

Last season, Espi scored 11 goals in 25 La Liga appearances. This acquisition marks the fifth signing for Real Madrid this summer, following Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, and Denzel Dumfries.

Additionally, media reports suggest that Madrid has agreed terms with RB Leipzig’s Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, and Manchester City midfielder Rodri is also rumored to be a target. Jose Mourinho has been hired as the new coach, replacing Alvaro Arbeloa.
