Real Warri Pikin Apologizes for Viral Stage Moment

On September 14, Nigerian comedian Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, issued an apology following a viral video of her playful interaction with singer Timaya during his performance at the AFRIMMA Awards in the United States. In the video, Real Warri Pikin jumped on Timaya while he performed his song "Ukwu," which led to a debate on social media regarding the appropriateness of her actions as a married woman.

Some users criticized her behavior, while others defended it as part of a live entertainment act. Real Warri Pikin explained that she had been enjoying the show backstage when Timaya invited a woman to join him on stage.

Initially hesitant, she participated after Timaya encouraged her. Surprised by the backlash, she noted that some comments suggested she should leave her marriage.

She took full responsibility for her actions, stating, “I no go try am again,” and humorously mentioned her husband, Ikechukwu, who was in Nigeria, expressing concern about his reaction to the incident.
