MTN Champs Grand Final Celebrates Young Athletes in Ibadan

The MTN Champs Grand Final, marking the conclusion of Season 4, was held in Ibadan, featuring 3,200 athletes from 375 schools. The event, which took place at the Lekan Salami Stadium and the University of Ibadan Sports Complex, was attended by key stakeholders including MTN executives Idowu Adesokan and Bambo Akani, as well as five-time Olympian Mari Onyali.

The initiative aims to discover and nurture young athletic talent across Nigeria, with a focus on grassroots development. Adesokan described the grand final as a defining moment in the competition's journey, while Akani expressed gratitude to partners and stakeholders for their support.

Oyo State's Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adegok, highlighted the alignment of the MTN Champs with the state's development goals. This year's event is noted as the largest yet, further solidifying Ibadan's reputation as a hub for grassroots athletics in Nigeria.
