MTN Championships Grand Final: Onoriode, Edet Shine

The MTN Championships Grand Final took place at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, featuring thrilling performances from young athletes. Bernic Onoriode excelled in the youth U-17 girl 100m final, achieving a personal best of 11.88 seconds, finishing ahead of Rebecca Enilolobo (12.07 seconds) and Rodia Ibrahim (12.16 seconds).

Edet Power claimed victory in the youth boy 100m final with a time of 11.10 seconds, having previously recorded a lifetime best of 10.99 seconds in the heats. Jesudemilad Ojo won the cadet boy 100m title, clocking 12.48 seconds.

Onoriode also won the youth girl 200m race with a time of 24.44 seconds, while Edet matched this feat in the boy category with a time of 22.45 seconds. Other notable performances included Taofikat Sulaimon winning the women's 200m title in 24.06 seconds and Comfort Jame winning the women's 800m in 2:05.58.

The event highlighted Nigeria's depth of talent in track and field.
