Red Cross Conducts Emergency Simulation in Kaduna

The Nigerian Red Cross Society's Kaduna State branch organized an emergency simulation exercise on Friday to prepare residents for disasters and security-related emergencies. This event was part of activities marking the 2026 World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

The simulation aimed to educate the public on appropriate actions during disaster and crisis situations. Muhammad Aminu Aliyu, the branch secretary, emphasized the importance of equipping residents with knowledge on emergency response and disaster management.

The roadshow included practical demonstrations of rescue operations, evacuation procedures, and first aid responses. Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga, president of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, highlighted the increasing difficulty of humanitarian operations due to insecurity affecting access to communities.

Akain King Micheal, deputy commandant of the NSCDC Kaduna State Command, commended the Red Cross for their impactful simulation exercise. Ariel Mbaya from the IOM noted the success of the event, which received positive feedback from residents.
