BIPC Reports 83% Completion of Taraku Mills Rehabilitation

The Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) reported that the rehabilitation of Taraku Mills has reached 83% completion. The factory is currently undergoing test-running and is expected to move to commercial dry-runs and certification before a full market rollout in October/November 2026.
BIPC has registered 2,847 farmers across twelve local government areas in Benue State through its aggregation model. Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, BIPC Group Managing Director, stated that the project will generate 1,500 direct jobs and over 5,000 indirect jobs for farmers, transporters, and distributors.
The projected annual turnover is N8.2 billion, with anticipated savings of over $2.5 million annually on edible oil imports. The total installed capacity at Taraku Mills is 200MT per day, with two soybean crushing lines of 50MT per day each already restored.
BIPC plans to establish three aggregation centers in Taraku, Gboko, and Otukpo, with a combined storage capacity of 3,000MT.
