Alia Urges Benue Farmers to Boost Production Post Taraku Mills Revival

On Wednesday, August 26, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia called on farmers in Benue to enhance their production levels, highlighting the revival of Taraku Mills in Gwer East, which is currently undergoing test-running with full operations expected soon. During his statewide Thank-You Tour, Alia engaged with stakeholders from Gwer East/Gwer West and Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituencies, emphasizing that the reactivation of Taraku Mills and other agro-industrial projects would provide farmers with a stable market, preventing losses during harvest seasons.

He praised local residents for protecting the facility's equipment from vandalism during its inactivity. Alia also addressed infrastructure, promising to consider the construction of the Makurdi-Naka Road and recruitment of additional teachers for schools.

He took a firm stance on land use, stating no land would be allocated for ranching. Alia commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the 5 Division in Benue to enhance security efforts.
