Oluremi Tinubu Urges Hope Amid Rising Insecurity in Nigeria

On May 30, 2026, Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, addressed a gathering of women at the Ekiti Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, urging Nigerians to keep hope alive despite the increasing security challenges in parts of the country. She reassured residents that the federal government, alongside security agencies and international partners, is committed to overcoming these issues.

Tinubu expressed confidence in her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his tireless efforts to combat insecurity. She emphasized the importance of prayer and hope, particularly for women, as the nation faces various security threats, including kidnappings and attacks in states like Oyo, Benue, and Borno.

During the event, she also presented support to 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti State to bolster their businesses and the local economy. Additionally, she encouraged support for the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20 governorship elections.
