Oluremi Tinubu Expands Nutrition Support Initiative

On a recent visit to Abuja, Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, unveiled new steps to expand the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), aimed at enhancing nutrition support across the country. The initiative will establish food banks located near primary health care centers to facilitate access to nutritional support for vulnerable families.

During her meeting with the wives of governors at the Presidential Villa, she highlighted the importance of addressing malnutrition among children and urged state governors' spouses to identify support for malnourished children. Oluremi Tinubu disclosed her personal contribution of N500 million to the food bank drive, while the wives of governors contributed N40 million.

Previous interventions included N2 billion for tuberculosis, N1 billion for breast cancer, and N500 million for malnutrition. The RHI aims to reach 10,000 beneficiaries across various states, reinforcing the government's commitment to social investment and food security.
