Rep Abdussamad Dasuki Resigns from PDP, Joins ADC

Abdussamad Dasuki, representing the Tambuw Kebbi Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, formally resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on March 15, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Dogon Daji Salah Ward, Dasuki cited a protracted leadership crisis within the party that has significantly weakened its capacity to function effectively as the leading opposition party.

He noted that persistent internal challenges have made it difficult for the PDP to provide a credible alternative necessary for strengthening Nigeria's democracy. Following his resignation, Dasuki announced his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), explaining that this move would enable him to collaborate with like-minded patriots committed to addressing the current socio-economic and political challenges facing the country.

He expressed gratitude to PDP members for their support during his time in the party and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of his constituency while embarking on a new political journey aimed at contributing to the nation's recovery and democratic prosperity.
