Rep Dasuki Resigns from PDP, Joins ADC for Change

On March 15, 2026, Rep Dasuki officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In his resignation letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Dogon Daji Salah Ward in Tambuw LGA, Sokoto State, Dasuki cited a protracted leadership crisis within the PDP that has significantly weakened its capacity to function effectively as an opposition party.

He noted that persistent internal challenges have made it difficult for the PDP to provide a credible alternative necessary to strengthen Nigeria's democracy. Dasuki's decision followed extensive consultations with political associates and stakeholders who share concerns about the current state of the party nationally.

He expressed appreciation for the support he received from PDP members during his time in the party and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the people of Tambuw Kebbi Federal Constituency in Sokoto State. Dasuki aims to contribute to efforts to rescue the country from its current socio-economic and political challenges as he embarks on this new political journey.
