Delta State Ranks Second in Nigeria's Governance Index

A report from the Commonwealth Institute of Advanced Professional Studies ranks Delta State as the second-best governed state in Nigeria, achieving a score of 70%. Kaduna State leads the index with a score of 73%.

The report, released on a Saturday, emphasizes the effective governance and infrastructure development under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration. The ranking places Delta State ahead of 34 other states, including Anambra, Ekiti, and Akwa Ibom, which complete the top ten.

Anambra State, led by Governor Charles Soludo, ranks third with 65.5%, while Niger State and Ekiti State follow in fourth and fifth places, respectively. The report indicates that Delta State's strong performance is expected to enhance public confidence in Oborevwori's administration, which focuses on extensive investments in critical sectors such as healthcare and education.

The report also notes that Taraba State ranks last among the 36 states with a score of 20%.
