Sheriff Mulad Sues NDC for N5bn Over Primary Election Scrapping

Sheriff Mulad, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Warri Federal Constituency, has initiated legal action against the Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC) for N5 billion in damages. This lawsuit stems from the party's decision to allegedly discard the outcome of the primary election in favor of a selection process, which Mulad claims was influenced by the highest bidder for nomination forms.

He expressed shock at the party's sudden shift to this selection method, which he argues undermines democratic principles. Mulad, who hails from the oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, criticized the NDC's leadership, particularly that of its national leader, Senator Henri Seriake Dickson, suggesting that they are overwhelmed by resources and have deviated from their commitment to addressing Nigeria's challenges.

He has formally proceeded to court to seek redress for what he describes as an infringement of democratic rights.
