FG to Resume Payment of Outstanding Liabilities to Contractors

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to resume the payment of outstanding liabilities to indigenous contractors starting Monday. This decision follows a meeting led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu, with aggrieved indigenous contractors and government officials.

The Chief Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, announced the commencement of payments after an amicable resolution was reached. The contractors, numbering 80 from across the country, had staged protests in Abuja due to unpaid debts.

The intervention by the Deputy Speaker signifies a step towards resolving financial disputes and honoring government commitments to local contractors.
