Ihonvber Wins APC Primary in Edo, Dismisses Loss Reports

Prof. Julius Omozuanvbo Ihonvber emerged victorious in the APC primary election for the Owan Federal Constituency in Edo State, held on Saturday, May 16th.

He received a total of 4,729 votes, defeating his closest rival, Hon. Andrew Ijegbai, who garnered 2,912 votes, while Hon.

Abdul Oroh finished third with only 29 votes. The House Majority Leader, Samson Akhaniem, issued a statement dismissing misleading reports about Ihonvber losing the primary.

Akhaniem confirmed the results of the direct primary conducted across the federal constituency and expressed gratitude to party members and stakeholders for their support. He also noted that Hon.

Foli Ogedengbe and Barr. Fridai Ojealaro had previously withdrawn from the race to support Ihonvber.

Akhaniem appealed for unity among party members as they prepare for the upcoming general elections, emphasizing the need to work together to achieve victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
