Ndume Urges Military to Rescue 79 Captives in Borno

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has appealed to the Nigerian military and security agencies to sustain ongoing rescue operations in southern Borno, where 79 individuals are currently held captive by kidnappers. Speaking on Channel TV, Ndume highlighted the need for the military to focus on the release of these individuals, which includes 42 people from Musa and 37 from Lassa, as well as others abducted along the Buratai route.

He emphasized the trauma faced by families, particularly children and students preparing for examinations. Despite the security challenges, Ndume expressed confidence in the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies, urging them to build on recent successes, including the safe rescue of abducted children and the neutralization of eight kidnapping suspects.

He called for intensified efforts to ensure the safe return of all remaining captives in Musa, Lassa, and Muoshi areas.
