Kaduna Residents Demand Military Base Amid Bandit Attacks

Residents from various Kaduna communities, including Unguwar Isa, Hayin Pastor, Gidan Kunkun, and others, are calling for the establishment of a military base in their area due to persistent bandit attacks that have displaced them. Reverend Musa Hassan Shedari, who led a delegation of community leaders, highlighted the severe impact of the violence, which has affected 39 communities across ethnic and religious lines, including Hausa, Fulani, and Christian groups.

Many families have fled their homes, with some taking refuge in Saminaka, Zaria, and Kauru. The financial burden is significant, as families have reportedly paid millions in ransom for the release of abducted loved ones.

Community leader Ibrahim Hore recounted the ordeal of his village, where insecurity has forced families to abandon farming activities, living in constant fear of bandit attacks. The residents are pleading for federal and state government assistance to restore peace and allow them to return to their homes and farms.
