Reps Urge FG to Deploy Troops to Borno, Kaduna Communities

During a plenary session on Thursday, the House of Representatives called on the Federal Government to urgently deploy additional military and paramilitary personnel to the Askira Uba and Kachia communities in Borno and Kaduna states. This request follows a series of violent invasions and attacks by bandits, particularly affecting Mussa Ward, Leho, Pubagu, Kwajaffa, and Harang Village.

Representatives Midala Balami from Borno and Gabriel Zock from Kaduna highlighted the distress caused by these attacks, including the recent abduction of 20 individuals along the Biu-Buratai-Damaturu road, which included women and children. The House expressed deep concern over the tragic loss of lives and the displacement of families, urging the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, to intensify surveillance and establish permanent security outposts in the affected areas.

The House also commended Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum for his efforts in strengthening local vigilance to support security operations.
