Ogun Residents Demand Urgent Repair of Deplorable Market Road

Residents in Ogun State are lamenting the poor condition of the road connecting Abul Oko and Magboro, which has significantly deteriorated over the years, making movement difficult for commuters, motorists, and traders. Following heavy rainfall, the road has become nearly impassable, forcing residents to remove footwear to access the market.

A trader, Abubakar, noted that previous attempts by community youth to patch the road were ineffective, and there has been no government intervention to address the issue. Residents have reported that the road's condition worsens during the rainy season, turning it into a muddy hazard that has led to numerous accidents, including serious injuries.

The economic impact is evident, with a sharp decline in patronage at the Abul Oko market as traders struggle to access the area. Despite claims from Kayod Akinmad, special adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, that repairs are underway in adjacent communities, residents remain skeptical about the government's commitment to fixing their road.
