Borno Residents Alarmed Over Abductions After Attack

Residents of Ngosh in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, have expressed alarm over the fate of the elderly and bodies allegedly left behind following a Boko Haram terrorist attack. Eyewitnesses reported that the attack occurred on a Wednesday, with sporadic gunfire prompting many to flee into the bush for safety.

Shuaibu Dabawa, a district secretary, claimed that approximately 300 residents were abducted during the assault. The Borno State Police Command, represented by ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed the attack but noted that the number of civilians affected remains unverified.

Survivors, including Amina Halidu, have appealed for urgent military reinforcements and food assistance for displaced families, as many elderly individuals were reportedly left behind in the chaos. The situation has raised significant security concerns, with survivors facing extreme hardship in makeshift shelters, such as the central primary school in Pulka.
