Residents Demand Action on Abandoned Lagos Road

Residents of Alakuko in the Ijay Ojokoro Local Government Area of Lagos State are urgently seeking assistance from the Lagos State Government due to the abandoned state of Baal Animashaun Road. They describe the road as a "death trap," with its poor condition worsening economic hardship for the community.

Abayomi Oguntuas, a resident, highlighted that the road has been in terrible condition for six to seven years, despite repeated appeals for repairs. Residents have even taken to social media to voice their concerns.

The situation has led to significant vehicle damage and has made movement difficult, affecting local businesses. Matthew Adeley emphasized the road's economic importance, linking it to several communities and major routes, including the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Residents are frustrated by the lack of government response, with Shina Odunuga from the Lagos State Ministry not responding to inquiries. The community is calling for a complete reconstruction of the road, especially as the rainy season approaches, which exacerbates the situation.
