Residents Call for Action on Abandoned Ondo Road Project

Residents of Idanr Local Government Area in Ondo State have submitted a petition to the Federal Government, urging intervention in the abandoned Idanr Owena Road project. The project was officially awarded on January 27, 2023, for rehabilitation and reconstruction; however, no contractor has been seen on-site since the award.

The residents express concern over the deplorable condition of the road, which they believe has led to economic hardship, safety risks, and potential mismanagement of public funds. They demand the Federal Government suspend further payments, release funds only after an independent verification of the project's status, and prosecute any individuals found to have mismanaged or misrepresented the project.

The petition, presented by Banji Olusesan on behalf of the concerned residents, emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in the handling of public funds to ensure the proper rehabilitation of the Idanr Owena Road.
